Job Description

Export Packers Company who has been established since 1937 and is a leading Fortune 500 company within the Food Industry is looking for a Product Development Assistant/Co-coordinator.

The successful candidate must be adaptable, creative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ideal candidate should have minimum 3 years experience within the Food industry, an asset would be a candidate that has worked within a Seafood/Fish sector or have a College diploma in the Food Science Industry. Candidate must enjoy being in a Test Kitchen as well as thrive in an office setting. This role reports directly into the Seafood Product Development Manager and works closely with Quality Manager, buyers and procurement team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Administrative support and coordination of duties working with the Product Development Manager, Quality Manager and other team members in Seafood Category department
  • Administration coordination of central files and general office duties; involved in updating of project plans and critical paths.
  • Supports compiles and completes reports for Final Product and Packaging Specifications. Analyze reports.
  • Adaptable positive attitude and interest in periodically working in Test Kitchen.
  • General knowledge of Quality Assurance including Inspections and documents.
  • Ability and desire to prepare product samples for taste testing and participation.
  • Co-ordination and ordering of products, including dry ice.
  • Coordinate and schedule to pick up some products at grocery store when required.
  • Organization and management of Freezer, ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Sample shipping and receiving, sample evaluation and communication of results to interested parties.
  • Candidate must have a creative flair of providing assistance in the development of packaging in Seafood Category.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, deal with internal and external people.
  • Computer skills, Word, Excel, and Power point an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS
Office experience 1 – 3 years
Technical and computer skills in Outlook and Excel, Power-point experience an asset
Clear and effective communication skills
Ability to multi task, have strong organizational skills, attention to detail
Exceptional people skills, liaison with various people
Passion for Food likes Seafood and Fish, naturally comfortable in kitchen setting.
